Mechanical Engineering Drafting 3D Solid modeling have become commonplace in engineering in the last ten years due to faster computers and software technology that creates a virtual 3D representation of components for machine design and analysis.
The ability to dynamically re-orient the model, in real-time shaded 3-D, is emphasized and helps the designer maintain a mental 3-D image. A solid part model generally consists of a group of features, added one at a time, until the model is complete. Engineering solid models are built mostly with sketcher-based features.
3D Design work on components is usually done within context of the whole product using assembly modeling methods. An assembly model incorporates references to individual part models that comprise the development.
After the 3d design is completed a 2D drawings can be rapidly created. Engineering drawings or mechanical drawings used to be created by hand using tools such as pencils, ink, straightedges, T-squares, French curves, triangles, rulers, scales, and erasers. CAD 2d Drawings:CAD 2d Drawings or CAD Drawings are made from the 3D model created using computer aided design technology.
Today they are usually done electronically with computer-aided design (CAD) from the 3D Model. In our specific case we use parametric software, like Solidworks, Autocad, Pro-e.
The purpose of such a drawing is to accurately and unambiguously capture all the geometric features of a product or a component. The end goal of an engineering drawing is to convey all the required information that will allow a manufacturer to produce that component. In many cases are call “shop drawings”.
The drawings are still often referred to as "blueprints" although those terms are anachronistic from a literal perspective, since most copies of engineering drawings that were formerly made using a chemical-printing (ammonia) process that yielded graphics on blue-colored paper or, alternatively, of blue-lines on white paper, have been superseded by more modern reproduction processes that yield black or multicolor lines on white paper.
The more generic term "print" is now in common usage to mean any paper copy of an engineering drawing. The process of producing engineering drawings and the skill of producing them, referred to as technical drawing or drafting.
If you can imagine it, we can design and
create it.
