We reverse engineering at the request of our clients in order to determine the Geometrical or operational qualities of a sample, often as part of a company's research and development program.

We're a boutique organization which means that each Scanning, 3D Modeling or 3D Measurement, gets Fred Vierheller's Personal Attention.

When it comes to designing a product, reverse engineering is one of the oldest and most widely used practices. Reverse engineering has been responsible for some of the greatest innovations in technology and is still a widely used means of understanding and improving upon technology today.

Essentially, reverse engineering means to take a product and investigate the mechanisms by which it works. Reverse engineering service companies can take a product and discover how it was designed and why certain elements are in place, and then explain these things to a client. From there, the client can develop an improved version of the product that they themselves can sell.

When attempting to reverse engineer a product, it pays to have experienced professionals on your side. By hiring expert engineering design services, you can be assured that they have the knowledge to understand the engineering and design of a product, which can go a long way in the process of reverse engineering. After all, in order to know how something works, you have to understand how it was designed and developed. A reverse engineering company may also be able to offer a drafting service. A drafting service would allow you to see the actual design and function of a product on paper or on a computer screen.

Engineering design services are also an excellent choice for those who are seeking to improve upon their own products through reverse engineering. Often times, a company may hire a design firm to engineer a product, but then that design firm goes out of business in time. As a result, the company may not have access to, or understanding of, the original design plans that were drawn up through the design company’s drafting service. In this instance, the company may hire a reverse engineering service to take the original product, reverse engineer it, and draw up plans to allow for improving upon the product.

Regardless of whether you want to redesign your own product or you want to understand your competition’s product in order to improve upon it, reverse engineering services are a great option. By working with a dedicated team of engineering and design professionals, you are making an investment in your company’s future success, while improving your specific industry as a whole by providing better quality products.

Traditional processes for reverse engineering objects and structures from 3D datasets have been initially data (e.g. triangulated models) and parametric surface (e.g. quadric surface) driven.

Laser Scanner are devices that analyze a real-world object or environment to collect data on its shape and appearance, data that can then be used to construct digital, 3D models useful for a wide variety of application.

For several years a research group at Edinburgh University has been exploring "knowledge-based" techniques. The underlying theme behind this set of techniques is the exploitation of general knowledge about the domain of objects being reconstructed.

The reconstruction process is not "model-based" reverse engineering, as then there would be no point to building the models - this would not be "reverse engineering". On the other hand, the knowledge is not arbitrary, because the objects that humans construct are not arbitrary: the shapes of most normal objects follow standard conventions arising from tradition, utility or engineering design. This is a “knowledge-based" approach.

From these general ideas, we have been exploring techniques to improve reverse engineering of objects from 3D point data sets.

The 3D Lasser Scanner captures objects in full color with multi-laser precision.

A 3D scanner is a device that analyzes a real-world object or environment to collect data on its shape and possibly its appearance (i.e. color). The collected data can then be used to construct digital, three dimensional models.

The purpose of a 3D scanner is usually to create a point cloud of geometric samples on the surface of the subject. These points can then be used to extrapolate the shape of the subject.

Use with Nextengine-ScanStudio CAD Tools to make surface files or RapidWorks to build solid files. Print models on Dimension, 3D Systems, zCorp, Objet, and other 3D printers.

We are utilizing the latest technology and software coupled with years of industry expertise to generate optimal outputs for the laser scanning projects of our customers.

The purpose of a laser scanner is to create a point cloud of geometric samples on the surface of the subject, which are used to reconstruct the shape of the subject.

Our engineers save customers time and money by using full scan comparisons to translate subjects into designed CAD geometry, eliminating the needs for the inspection of countless dimensions. SolidMasters provides to his customers with high-end reverse engineering and precision 3D scanning services for high precision components and micro surfaces.

With years of experience reverse engineering parts and prototypes for plastic injection molds, medical and dental products, electric motors and much more, our comprehensive engineering documentation solutions can rapidly decrease the time to market for your ideas.
